This is to announce that the following meetings will be taking place in the Legislature this week and next Monday:

• a Joint Federal Relations Committee Conference on Friday, September 5, 2008 @ 9:30am in the Speaker’s Conference Room.  The purpose of this meeting is to continue discussions that began last week on pertinent federal relations issues — including the Governor’s proposed federalization lawsuit, the proposed Marianas Trench National Monument, etc.
• a Youth Congress Election meeting on Friday, September 5, 2008 @ 1:30pm in the House Chamber.  The purpose of this meeting is to prepare for the upcoming Youth Congress Election on Sept.15 2008.
• a Commerce and Tourism Committee meeting on Monday, September 8, 2008 @ 9:30am in the Speaker’s Conference Room.  The following bills will be reviewed: HB 16-31; 16-39; 16-48; 16-52; 16-85; 16-94; and 16-123.
